We have tried to make navigation through the NICATS site as easy as possible for all our users. There is a text only version of the home page for users using screen readers, self-voicing browsers or text-only browsers such as Lynx. All images on the site make use of ALT tags and have descriptions where necessary.
All pages
have been validated with the W3C HTML Validator (HTMLVAL) which checks web pages
for compliance with W3C Recommendations and other HTML standards.
Every page starts with a 'skip navigation bar' which if chosen bypasses the images and places you at the page heading.
The site has been designed to enable tabbing between links to help you browse quickly. Access keys have been defined for any forms.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns about NICATS, please contact us.
If you are experiencing any technical problems, perhaps with how your browser displays our web pages or Adobe PDF documents, please email the Information Systems Manager or use our feedback form.
Most of the documents available for on-screen viewing or downloading are in either PDF or plain text format.
You can download and install the free Adobe Reader here.
As the site has been designed using style sheets, which can be disabled, you may customise your browser to your favourite settings.
Internet Explorer: The NICATS style sheet uses relative font sizes. This means that the size of the text is sized relative to the setting in your Interent Explorer. To make the text larger or smaller, change the default font size of the browser by: Menu View>Text Size then change the size.
Netscape 4: Menu View>Increase or Decrease Font. You may need to reload the page as Netscape version 4 can produce unexpected results!
Internet Explorer:Menu Tools>Internet Options>General>Accessibility then decide whether to:
Netscape 4: Menu Edit>Preferences>Appearance>Fonts>Size
